Progressive Web Apps are a big thing and all developers know it. The benefits in using a Cache API with Javascript and in have a mechanism to get notifications even when the App is closed in our browser is Huge! but reality is that PWAs movement was stopped because adoption for major browsers was slow.

Your Progressive Web App works amazing in Chrome or Firefox but always was awkward when someone ask you for the benefits in Safari or Internet Explorer…. until now ! because on December 19 and 20 we get two great announcements.

Microsoft Edge going to support Service Worker by default in his next release and the same for Safari.

That means that all your Progressive Web Apps will be able to cache content and work offline, no matter what browser theyโ€™re in. Also, the ionic team release an amazing website with a lot of case of studies about PWA in the real World and Addy Osmani release a nice case of Study about Tinder ๐Ÿ™‚

Well seems like 2018 going to be a great year for PWAs see you in the next post ๐Ÿ˜‰
